Human Machine Interaction Engineer

You will make sure that the exoskeleton is like an extension of the pilot’s body by implementing a robust and user friendly control system for the pilot.

How do you make sure the exoskeleton walks

As Human Machine Interaction Engineer it is your task to bridge the gap between the human and the machine. You will make sure that the control of the exoskeleton is as natural as possible for the pilot, so that the exoskeleton is like an extension of the body. You design the way in which the pilot interacts with the exoskeleton, which has a variety of possible solutions. You can work on improving the input device, or you can continue working on our current EEG implementation to allow the pilot to give commands with just their thoughts. You can also explore other input methods such as eye tracking, other interfacing methods such as heads up displays, and implement feedback mechanisms such as precision haptics.

What you will do as Human Machine Interaction Engineer

As Human Machine Interaction Engineer it is your goal to make the control of the exoskeleton feel as natural as possible. By analyzing and testing, but also by conversing with other teammates and of course with the pilot, you will be able to come to new applications. To do this, you shall have to program, build prototypes, and use other methods to research what works well for the pilot to use, because for a lot of problems, there are no standard solutions yet: seems there's plenty to innovate!
