Operations Manager

As responsible for the Operations Departments, you will translate the development of the exoskeleton into optimal (financial) business operations within the team.

How do you make sure the exoskeleton walks

As Operations Manager you are involved in multiple different aspects of the development of the exoskeleton. You take the responsibility of the Operations Department and make sure that everything within your department runs smoothly. Besides that, you are responsible for the financial matters related to Project MARCH as well. You will be coordinating external events and the organization of your own events. Are you always full of new insights and do you have an idea how you can help Project MARCH a step further? Then as Operations Manager, you'll have both the time and the resources to work it out. You will ensure that you and your team members set up cool innovative projects that contribute to achieving your team goals. Together, these different aspects form a very challenging and diverse position!

What you will do as Operations Manager

As Operations Manager, you are actively involved in all financial matters concerning Project MARCH. This means that you will translate the development of the exoskeleton into a budget and that you will regulate all the money that comes in and goes out. Together with your Partnerships Coordinator, you make sure that the acquisition goal is achieved (of which you yourself also take part in!) and that every Euro is spent in the most useful way possible on the exoskeleton. You also ensure that Project MARCH has a clear vision of the future with an accompanying strategy and that projects are set up that contribute to achieving these goals in addition to the development of the exoskeleton. In addition, you will ensure that the logistics around external events are well coordinated and that you and your team members can showcase your developments to the world at events co-organized by you, such as the annual Design Presentation. To regulate this you will have multiple meetings on a weekly basis and you need to be in close contact with all team members. Finally, on a project basis, there is plenty of room for personal initiative. These are matters that are not directly relevant for the exoskeleton itself, but for Project MARCH as an organization. Think for example of setting up an online course, a national exoskeleton network, or figuring out and improving the legal entity and associated legal matters.

In addition to your own duties, you will be working with the other three members of the Management Team to ensure that your team functions optimally. This means that in addition to your responsibilities you also deal with general issues that affect the entire team. That means looking ahead and anticipating any problems and opportunities that may arise. From internal and external communications to collaboration with other organizations, you will discuss and find flexible solutions. In short, a very diverse job that can largely be fulfilled according to your own preferences and ideas!
