Duncan Bijkerk
As a Mechanical Engineer, Duncan is responsible for designing and implementing the mechanical components of the exoskeleton. He enjoys working closely with other departments to understand the different systems beyond the mechanical aspects and to ensure that all components integrate seamlessly. What he values most is gathering knowledge and using it to transform creative ideas into reality.
With a long-standing interest in biology and anatomy, Duncan pursued a minor in Biomedical Engineering during his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at TU Delft. This deepened his fascination with biomechanics and strengthened his desire to join a Dream Team. Project MARCH felt like the perfect next step to apply his academic knowledge to a socially impactful challenge.
Duncan aspires to solve the complex challenge of integrating mechanical, control, and electrical systems into a device that significantly improves the quality of life for people with spinal cord injuries.
