Elke Crooijmans
As Lead Mechanical Engineer, Elke plays a key role in both guiding the department and contributing directly to the design and development of the exoskeleton. She ensures that all parts of the mechanical system, from the frame to the joints, come together seamlessly, while also keeping an eye on the bigger picture. By staying up to date on the department’s progress and anticipating challenges, she makes sure that everything runs smoothly and aligns with the goals of the project.
With a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s specialization in Biomechanical Design underway, Elke combines solid technical knowledge with a strong motivation to make a difference. She chose Project MARCH to broaden her skills, gain practical experience, and apply her creativity to real-world healthcare innovation.
Driven by the impact her work can have, Elke is motivated by the opportunity to help Daan walk in the exoskeleton while contributing to meaningful advances for people with spinal cord injuries.
