Lucia Serrano Ruber

As a Software Engineer, Lucia is partially responsible for ensuring the computer, or “brain”, of the exoskeleton sends the right commands to the rest of its “body”. With a focus on usability and speed, they hope to improve the user experience for the pilot and the rest of the team.

Their interest in Project MARCH comes from the intersection of robotics and biomedical engineering, working towards making a tangible impact on people’s lives. Their background in Computer Science and Robotics equips them with a good set of technical skills to help the team forward but they are curious and excited to expand their knowledge in fields from the other departments as well.

Lucia is looking forward to seeing Daan walk in the exoskeleton for the first time (and every time after that, of course), and they hope that all the hard work put into this year’s exoskeleton pushes the medical field forward, bringing hope for spinal cord injury patients who want to walk again.
