Max Cuypers
As a Control Engineer, Max is one of three team members responsible for ensuring that the exoskeleton performs as intended. Together with Wies and Dariya, he makes sure the joints accurately follow the commands sent by the high-level software, allowing the pilot to move both safely and comfortably. What he enjoys most about his role is its multidisciplinary character, combining software development, hardware testing, and teamwork across departments.
Max’s main focus is developing the low-level software and testing it directly on the exoskeleton. As part of the Software Department, he also contributes to improving the high-level software, and he collaborates closely with the Embedded Systems Engineers to guarantee reliable communication between the joints and the computer.
With a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Technology, Max brings a combination of medical and technical expertise to the team. During his studies, he learned how to translate medical challenges into technical solutions, a skill he is eager to apply within Project MARCH. This year, he looks forward to broadening his technological knowledge and gaining experience working in a large, interdisciplinary project.
