Rong Jin Zhang

As the Lead Embedded Systems and Electrical Engineer, Rong Jin is responsible for engineering the central nervous system of the exoskeleton. His work includes designing and assembling the custom motor controllers (MDrives) that enable movement, as well as ensuring the functionality of the sensor network and the main computer. In addition to the technical aspects, he leads his department’s strategy and acts as a crucial link between his team, the Management Team, and the other engineering leads.

Rong Jin’s fascination with exoskeleton technology began long before his studies in Delft. He first learned about Project MARCH in high school and was immediately drawn to its mission, making it his goal to one day join the team. With his engineering background and passion for innovation, he now contributes directly to realizing that ambition.

Rong Jin is detail-oriented, ambitious, and thrives on technical challenges. He enjoys diving deep into both hardware and software to push the boundaries of assistive technology. For him, Project MARCH is not just about creating advanced technology, but about developing innovative and sustainable solutions that bring meaningful change to people’s lives.
