Esther van Geest
As Electronics Engineer, Esther is part of the team developing the electrical systems of the exoskeleton. She works on designing and building the electronics such as custom motor controllers (MDrives), Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), and the Power Distribution Board (PDB). She is excited to apply her existing technical knowledge to a new field and gain more hands-on experience with electronics.
While studying Computer Science and Engineering at TU Delft, Esther wanted to broaden her knowledge beyond software and learn more about the electrical side of engineering. During high school, she was a mechanical engineer in a robotics team, where she learned how to work in a team and solve practical engineering challenges. She wanted to continue working on ambitious technical projects and saw Project MARCH as an exciting opportunity to join a team with a shared goal.
This year, Esther hopes to deepen her understanding of electronics, learn from those around her, and contribute to the team. She looks forward to seeing how their work comes together in an exoskeleton that could make a difference to people with paraplegia. Above all, she hopes to challenge herself, make the most of the experience, and have a memorable year.
