Indy Rube
As Software Engineer, Indy is responsible for developing software and analyzing sensor data to improve the exoskeleton and its adaptive walking patterns. By connecting the pilot’s movements with the actions of the exoskeleton, she aims to give pilots more control and independence. Ultimately, she hopes to make the exoskeleton feel less like a machine and more like an extension of the human body.
With a background in Human Movement Technology, Indy is interested in how the human body moves and how technology can help people move better. Through rehabilitation projects, she gained experience applying her knowledge of anatomy, physiology and human movement to real-world challenges. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she chose to use her gap year to develop her software engineering skills. Project MARCH allows her to combine her knowledge of human movement with software while contributing to technology that can increase independence in daily life.
This year, Indy wants to strengthen her technological skills through a real-world project and gain a deeper understanding of software development. She also looks forward to working closely with the team, learning from others and contributing her own knowledge and ideas. Being part of the journey towards helping pilots stand and walk again makes this project especially meaningful to her.
