Joaquim Zweers
As Control Engineer, Joaquim is responsible for reliably translating the motion trajectories of a walking pattern to on-the-ground motor movements. He is interested in getting robotics closer to human functioning, both literally and figuratively, allowing comfortable and stable walking.
With his background in Control Systems Technologies, Robotics, and robot football, Joaquim brings technical expertise in motion systems and mechatronic design. He applies a good physical intuition of mechanical design to different control strategies. He joined Project MARCH because of a passion for medical robotics, facilitating a tangible improvement in living conditions for people.
Joaquim looks forward to challenging himself by turning his theoretical knowledge into hands-on practice on a real system and by designing a mechatronic system where control and hardware are tuned to push the boundaries of performance. He enjoys the challenge of creating a control system that is both robust and intuitive to use. This year, he hopes to contribute to enhancing the technology to increase the quality of life for people with paraplegia.
