Julian Overmars
As Software Engineer, Julian is responsible for ensuring the computer, or “brain”, of the exoskeleton sends the right commands to the rest of the exoskeleton. He works on building software that ensures the exoskeleton follows a suitable walking pattern, balances itself in the face of disturbances, and is able to overcome obstacles.
He completed his BSc in Computer Science & Engineering at TU Delft and his goal is to gain a lot of experience in the field of complex robotic systems. With the goal to continue with a MSc in robotics after Project MARCH, he hopes to continue working towards making an even more innovative impact. His experience with complex algorithms and multi-component systems ensures proper communication in the system. He expects to learn a lot from this project and is excited to work with people from other backgrounds.
Julian would like to see that exoskeletons become a viable way to improve the lives of people with spinal cord injuries. And he hopes the hard work of Project MARCH XII can contribute to this goal.
