Nikki de Vries

As Lead Electronics Engineer, Nikki plays a key role in both guiding the department and designing the electronic systems that form the central nervous system of the exoskeleton. Beyond her technical responsibilities, she acts as a link between Electronics and the other departments by maintaining clear communication, keeping track of the department’s progress and anticipating potential challenges.

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Nikki joined Project MARCH to apply the knowledge she gained in PCB design and embedded systems to a multidisciplinary project. She believes that the best solutions emerge when people from different disciplines come together and approach challenges from different perspectives. Project MARCH therefore offered her the perfect opportunity to collaborate in such an environment, while working on a project that could have a real impact on people’s lives.

During the project, Nikki hopes to gain hands-on experience in electronics design and production while developing a stronger intuition for creating innovative and reliable electronic systems. Driven by the impact her work can have, she is determined to contribute to the project’s ultimate goal of helping someone with a spinal cord injury walk again.
