As Team Manager, Olivier is responsible for both the team and the project. He makes sure that everyone can collaborate effectively, feels supported in their role, and has the opportunity to work towards their personal goals. With a diverse group of students, he aims to make sure that every discipline contributes to the success of the project. As the face of Project MARCH, he also represents the team to partners and the outside world.
Olivier chose to study Industrial Design Engineering because of the broad range of skills it brings together. From understanding people and their needs to exploring technical possibilities and considering economic realities, he likes working at the intersection of these different fields.
During the many group projects he worked on throughout his studies, he discovered that he particularly enjoys working in teams with people who offer knowledge different from his own, managing projects on short- and long-term timescales, and creating environments where teamwork can excel. He felt that taking on the role of Team Manager of a large interdisciplinary project like Project MARCH was the perfect next step to develop his interest in teamwork and project management.
He is motivated by the clear human focus and tangible impact of the project. Next to his Master’s in Design for Interaction, he hopes that his experience with Project MARCH will act as a gateway to work on more social projects that aim to use technology to make a real-world impact.
