Tian Qiu

As Lead Control Engineer, Tian is the main link between Control and the other departments. He strives to maintain transparency between departments to ensure a smooth team workflow, while also taking on his own responsibilities as Control Engineer. As part of the Control department, he works on translating the movements requested by the high-level software into the actual motion of the exoskeleton. By designing and tuning control loops and testing directly on the hardware, he helps ensure that the joints follow their intended motion smoothly and accurately.

With a BSc in Electrical Engineering, Tian brings a strong technical understanding of abstract systems as well as familiarity with a variety of hardware. Combined with his experience in biomedical applications and medicine, this gives him a broad technical foundation that is well suited to the multidisciplinary nature of Project MARCH.

This year, Tian aims to deepen his understanding of control systems while gaining experience applying them in a practical engineering environment. At the same time, he looks forward to taking on the responsibilities that come with a Lead role, guiding the Control team and coordinating its work within the broader project. He hopes to make full use of the toolbox he has built throughout his studies, while continuing to expand it in preparation for his future ambitions.
