Tom de Koning
Tom de Koning is very funny, handy, and social. He loves sailing and playing the guitar and is a perfect fit as a Mechanical Engineer. In his role as a Mechanical Engineer, he designs and produces the joints and frame parts of the exoskeleton.
Project MARCH aligns seamlessly with the master's program Tom began last year, ‘Biomechanical Design,’ and the combination of production and design really appeals to him. He envisions a future in the medtech or biomechanical field where he can leverage his engineering skills to make a meaningful impact on individuals' lives.
He enjoys the direct effect this project has on improving the quality of life for individuals, and his personal goal for this year is to use advanced simulations to design a more optimized exoskeleton, for example, in terms of stiffness and mass.
